Therapy for Parenting

Parenting can be really challenging and we don’t get training for it.  Without conscious thought we tend either to repeat the patterns we experienced as children from our own parents or decide to do it differently and so go completely the other way.  Either route can be unsatisfying.

Therapy offers a space in which to consider what being a child was like for you, how you feel about parenthood and how you want to parent.  It is a non-judgemental and confidential space in which to explore what you are doing and what you want to do.

If you are finding parenting challenging and want a place to talk about what is going on with you and your child then therapy with me could really help.   As the parent of grown up children I have experience of mothering and also of being a working mother.

I will work with you to gain awareness of yourself in relation to your parenting and to consider what your priorities are and how to meet them.    Together we will consider your day to day challenges and gain an understanding of the influences, beliefs and desires you bring to your parenting as well as think about strategies to support you to be the parent you want to be.
